ADU Development

We tucked this 800 sq ft ADU into the backyard and added a curved walkway to create a simple, natural approach to the entrance. The goal was to make the space feel intentional without overcomplicating the layout.

Efficient Space Planning

We also designed storage into overlooked areas. Under the stairs, we installed cabinetry with power and cable connections to house the internet equipment, keeping it out of sight while still accessible.

Outdoor Living Solutions

Outdoor space was treated the same way. A small backyard was turned into a usable extension of the home with a covered patio and low-maintenance turf, making it clean, practical, and easy to maintain.

Privacy and Functionality

Small details make a noticeable difference. A simple fence at the end of the driveway was positioned to block headlights from shining into the home, improving comfort without adding complexity.

Parking and Access

This ADU also benefits from alley access, allowing for two parking spaces and a private yard on the opposite side. These decisions increase both usability and long-term value.

Material and Design Choices

We use straightforward, durable materials that balance cost and quality: Maple cabinetry, Fir beams,
Cedar tongue and groove ceilings
OSB flooring as a clean, cost-effective finish
